I don't buy the bad luck theory either. We still have one more inning to try to take this one.
I guess me and PC are the only "believers". How else do you explain what has happened tonight? Lucky base hit after lucky base hit, 2 dropped foul balls, 2 line out double plays, a pitcher 1-11 since June getting a win, etc, etc.
