I only got to listen very briefly but the Sports Reporters were doing a segment on this tonight.  People were calling in and from the few minutes that I heard, neither the hosts nor callers were terribly impressed with NatsTown.  :hang:

I'm pretty sure they got the idea from the bum who sits outside the Centerfield gates asking for change.

Nats PR Rep: "Hey, I'll give you $1 for each potential Nationals slogan you can come up with."

BUM: NATSTOWN! Blub, blub.....

Nats PR Rep: Winner. Thank you. Here is four quarters.

The winning slogan just edged out this one:

Washington Nationals: We play in the same city as the Caps and Obama.

They're trying anything at this point...

personally, i think the new slogan should be: YES WE CAN! if Obama would let us borrow it.

Dukes' OFFICIAL slogan for his '09 breakout season and all-star campaign is: A BEAST WE CAN BELIEVE IN!

How can anyone nag after we were left with such fine slogans as "Let Yourself Go"
Every time I heard it, I had to make a run for the bathroom.

i'm surprised they didn't go with Nats Nation (but then again those douchebag Red Sox have a nation already).

And they ripped it off from the Oakland Raiders.

Does anyone really care what the team's slogan is?

How about Zombie Nation? Everyone rips that song off from PSU, might as well go whole hog. Our players could get professional makeup jobs before the game, they could sell strawberry soda, and they play like they are half-dead anyway.

I can't remember when all these "slogans for teams" really started and became press release issues.

It's either that or trumpeting the signing of OP.

so who on the Nats PR team is a member of this forum?

cause they owe me some serious props.

You and your Natsville idea were the first thing I thought of when I originally saw this thread.

No, I mean in general, for all teams. I can't remember when the MLB really started pushing slogans out on a yearly basis. Maybe they have been doing it forever and I just haven't noticed, but for the past two years it was enough to get an article on Nats.com.

I think marketing has taken greater emphasis over years past especially for those companies whose product lines are weak and need a public push.  Make your product better and they won't need these silly slogans. The fans here aren't stupid.

Is Natstown anything like Funkytown? Maybe the Nats can bring back Lipps Inc to do a Natstown version of Funkytown.

Who came up with that?

The Wizards need to change their team color to Red - right before the lottery -- hopefully that pops up the right ping pong ball and then the Wiz, Caps & Nats would all be Red ...which would actually be pretty cool ...

If they did that, AND changed their name back to the Bullets, I might actually start giving somewhat of a crap about that team again.

Does anyone really care what the team's slogan is?

I think it is indicative of the lameness of the organization

First year was: Let Yourself go
Second year was?
Third year was?
Last year was: Welcome Home

It should just be "Welcome Home" again this year since last year didnt really count for crap.  Or maybe it should be "Really. There is a MLB Team in this City and the New Stadium Was Indeed Built and is Ab Fab by Some Accounts So...Uhhh...Why Don't You Come by and Check it Out?"
