What did they do, set aside 100 tickets for that promotion?

Radio guys just said all the $1 tickets are gone.

So all they did was try to get people interested and then claim the dollar tickets were sold out to see if people would buy them at regular price.

I'm curious as to how many they made available.  I went on last night and got good seats in section 110.  I guess they got a good response...

TV guys just said the same, advertising the promotion and telling folks it is sold out in the same breath. LAI&C.

The announcement of the promotion and the announcement of it being "sold out" were separated by 24 hours.

They never exactly said how many they would sell at that price.  Might have been 30,40.

"$1 hot dogs, $1 peanuts, $1 popcorn and $1 parking!"

BEWARE: The parking is only in Lot HH (further away) and

"All $1 tickets, parking and food specials are valid only in the areas listed, subject to availability in select locations and good while supplies last. Some restrictions apply."

I'm guessing that the $1 food is only available in the $1 sections, and will quickly sell out.  If this is the case, everyone should boycott the hot dogs, peanuts, and popcorn being sold at regular (inflated) prices.

I like lot HH, and $1 is less than $5. Why are people complaining about a promotion that no one forced the team to do?

HH lot is the best - it's the cheapest and the easiest to leave from after the game. Granted, you have to walk by a sketchy abandoned lot...

When I park anywhere, I'm always looking for a spot that lets me out quickly, not get in quickly.  I'll walk a ways into the store or arena if I can get a parking spot that will let me out fast after I'm done.

Last time I walked by that lot, there were some guys playing dice...if anyone feels like they have a hot hand, go to HH and throw down a fiver and smoke 'em.

Here's my question, do the Nats want to fill the Park, or just sell an extra couple hundred tickets? I can see wanting to fill the Park, and while I understand the value of selling 500 more tickets than they would have otherwise, I just don't see the point as a promotion to sell a seemingly (mind fact) limited number of tickets for this.

Given the Nats past record of success and disappointing level of customer service, is $1 night will be a debacle that will cost them more fans than they won.

It's good PR for them. Plus it gives their apologists a chance to hype the Lerner magnanimity towards the fans.

Steinberg might as well start writing his Dollar Dog Fail blog now.  The only blanks to fill in are the innings when they run out of each item, the lengths of the lines, and a few quotes.

I came to the realization long ago that I would pay money to not stand in line so I would rather buy a $5 dog with no line than a $1 dog with a long line.
