Gewürztraminer? Nice varietal.

 Year Gewurz tastes like flowers and smells like fresh grass, it's awesome.

But this is a Riesling with a 15 letter long name or thereabouts.

It's always a hit.

When it comes to cheap red wine, I am a fan of Bully Hill's "Sweet Walter." Stuff is sweet as hell, but potent.

I'm working on a bottle right now.

I always see that at the store and always think about trying it, but always end up passing it over for something else.  I usually only like dry red wines, I tried and hated port one time.  I bought "Fat Bastard" one time just because of the name, sounded like just the wine for me

It's very sweet, but what I like about the Bully Hill brand is that there are several wines and on their label they have a "meter" which signifies which wine of theirs is dry, sweet, etc. Sweet Walter is their sweetest.

Fat Bastard wasn't too bad last time I gave it a whirl, though granted that was with habanero-laced hamburgers.

I'm not much of a wine drinker but my wife is.  She tends to like Pinot Nior's and Zinfandels.  I saw Fat Bastard and I wanted to get for her to try but the local shop only carried it in a shiraz.  She tells me that shiraz's are a real hit-or-miss so I balked.

And, of all places, in a shelter on the A.T. on the NC / Tenn border, in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Tomorrow night is 40 oz. Malt Liquor Night for me and my pals. Will probably drain a 40 oz. Mickeys or Colt 45, I haven't decided yet or gone to the little ghetto store that is about four blocks from my house to check out what they have in stock.

I like surprises.

In Texas, they have the mythical 64oz.

sounds like an opportunity for hockey and 40s. its a game with loose rules. you just try to see how many 40s you can drink during a hockey game. i like the juxtaposition of two different cultures. the sign of a good 40 is when different bottles of the same brand are filled to different heights with a range of at least an inch (pick the max)

An extra 24 ounces is not sufficient reason to go to that dead-beat plague of the union.

Houston, Austin, and the bbq's in Waco need to be made into little independent kingdoms like Lesotho and Swaziland. Galveston's ok.

Perhaps...Texas is a nice place to visit, too bad there are so many Texans there.

San Antonio is also nice, actually the only nice place I know in Texas. Was stationed there at Brooke Army Medical Center.

You have a very different opinion of Galveston than I.  Went there in '99 and thought it was a craphole.  The beach smells of sulfur.

had a glass last night after the bar closed.  Cruzan Coconut Rum, Amaretto, orange juice, and a splash of ginger ale. sooooo good.
