Perez ended up pitching another quality game last Thursday. He went seven
innings and gave up the two runs on three hits against the Pirates. However,
he got no decision for the fourth time this seaosn. Perez continues to say
that he is not frustrated that he hasn't picked up a win this season.
Oswalt won his third consecutive decision in his last start, though he still
says he has not had his good curveball on a consistent basis. Oswalt gave
up four runs on six hits, including a pair of homers, in that outing May 2
against Milwaukee, but picked up the victory when the offense cranked out
five home runs. Oswalt's personal winning streak is his longest since his
six-game streak of July 20-Aug. 29, 2007. The right-hander is 3-1 with a
2.45 ERA in eight career games against the Nationals.
