The 100 Greatest Players of All Time
« Topic Start: January 14, 2015, 09:08:20 PM »
ESPN has created the 100 greatest players of all time list, with no consideration for PED issues.

#1 is pretty obvious.

No Nellie Fox in the top 125, considering some of those that are included, makes this list a joke...

The 21 year old interns must have cobbled this together in the lunchroom...

Just looking at the top 10, I find it odd that the 3 I might kick about is Mantle at 9, Clemens at 6, and Williams at 3 or 4.  I am a Williams fan, but I can't see him ahead of Dimaggio given the defensive difference (or indifference, in Williams case).  Williams is top 10, but not just behind Bonds, Mays, and Ruth.  Clemens should not be ahead of Walter Johnson among righties.  He's probably better than Maddux due to longevity, but hey, I would not put him ahead of Pedro ;) .  Mantle, I don't know.

It's nice to see Walter Johnson high- I was expecting that era to be bumped way down

Here's the the non-slideshow version from 2012

Roger Clemens ahead of Walter Johnson. Joe Morgan ahead of Joe DiMaggio. Rickey Henderson ahead of Rogers Hornsby.  :smh: The way ESPN strokes Jeter I'm surprised he wasn't in their top 10.
