Sounds like you're getting what we had a few hours ago.  I think the "worst" is past here.  Still raining and gusting, but nothing steady.

Here we just have gunfire, helicopters, and a live band in the group house next door playing Pogues covers for a hurricane party.

Some crapheads car horn is stuck due to a short in the wiring.  Just called the cops to get it ironed out.  Hopefully a hickory shampoo is in his future.  Can't wait to get out of this craphole.

The cops haven't showed up yet.  Looks like the car horn is here to stay...

aren't they supposed to have something that turns them off after 3 minutes or so?  Do you have a shotgun?

At least they will have a dead battery at some point.  At which point you can slash the tires and pour karo syrup in the fuel tank.

I think it has been a good decade since I heard a car alarm on anything other than a carmax beater.  The cars actually worth stealing are much more subtle nowadays.  There are a bunch of crappy cars in my alley that go off all the time, and not one of them would pass the sniff test for a Honduran taxi.

As a big fan of crappy cars, I'm not criticising the ride, just the noise pollution.

And 16 hours later the car horn is still blowing...

Have I mentioned how much I can't wait to get out of this freaking craphole?

That sucks. So it's one continuous horn blast or a car alarm honking over and over again?

I'm moving in the next month as well. Can't wait to get out of this apartment complex and away from these loud as neighbors.

After that much noise I am surprised no one has made auto Flambé. The owner is clearly elsewhere.

No, they're here and I've tried three times to explain how to take the fuse out but I don't speak Korean.  Just a lot of "aaaaaaahhhhh, no no no no."  :smh:

One loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong horn.

Yeah, this place used to be quiet and really well ran, now it's just people "doubling or tripling up" and the noise that goes along with it, broken down cars with horn or car alarm problems, and utilities that are falling apart.  Just a dump.

Sounds like my place. Used to be quiet, all families. Went down the tubes and the new manager sucks.

Yeah, that's kind of like a Nostradamus forecast.

The NHC just announced TS Jose, but it's staying well out in the Atlantic and will dissipate without threatening land.  But the next storm that is predicted to follow the same track as Irene is now starting to get organized (orange circle below):

Walked through the neighborhood in E. Loudoun.   Doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as Isabelle or the snowmageddon thing.

Where are you?

We have tons of small branched down, but nothing major. Glad that some of the bigger ones that fell stayed away from the house.

really wasn't bad.  the winds did pick up around 3:00 am which honestly was kinda cool to sit outside and watch sway back and forth.  power went out sometime shortly after that when i was asleep.  i knew it went out because i woke up and was hot as hell.

then it came back on around 11ish.
