_______________________________________ ______________

Last Monday, Lannan pitched his best game of the season in a 3-2 loss to the Giants.
He pitched seven innings and gave up one run on eight hits. It was done despite the
fact that he didn't have good command of his fastball. Lannan pitched in the spotlight
primarily because he was facing Barry Bonds, who was tied with Hank Aaron for the
career home run lead with 755.

Webb has been on quite the roll of late. He enters Saturday's start with a 24-inning
scoreless streak. In his last outing, he tossed a seven-hitter against the Dodgers in
Los Angeles. Webb did not walk a batter and fanned four in tossing his second
complete game of the year. In his start prior to that, Webb shut out the Padres for
seven innings at PETCO Park.

I'm posting the thread early today because I'm leaving soon, and won't be here for a week, so I won't be able to post Gameday threads.  Locked until closer to gametime.  Lineups not official.

Edit: To one of the mods, please delete this thread or merge it with the game thread as soon as you see fit.

Please make sure you keep this one updated because the Redskins are about to kickoff and I have to watch the 1st quarter.

Terrible strike 2 call on Zim ... awful ... if webb is going to get those outside pitches  - it's going to be a long night - let's just hope the ump is as generous for Lannan

Don't count on it. Logan has been safe a couple of times and he never gets the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully he will at some point though.

That was a sick pitch to Zimmerman. Long night if he can fool our hitters like that. Hopefully they will be patient and force him to throw hittable pitches.

That inning didn't look good. Although it started out with promise.

Please elaborate! They said he was going to start in the minors on Tuesday. Did they change that?

YEP! Bowden announced today that they are changing the rotation for the phillies series - Hill starts on Tuesday ... !! Woot!!  - Haven't announced who will lose miss their turn though ... Depending on how Lannan does tonight - I'm thinking it might be Chico ...

Easy 1, 2, 3 for Webb ...

That's fabulous news. I guess Bergmann will return later for the Mets series.

Feh. We can watch Joe Gibbs try to run a football team like a NASCAR team. I wonder if he's going to give out yet another coaching job with a silly title like Lieutenant Head Coach in Charge for Special Teams.

I'd like Marty back. He was more like Joe than Joe is. Breaks my heart.

I'm hoping it's Bacsik but Chico could also be a candidate.

I figured Webb would own us and from what you said he is doing just that at least early on. Lannan has a large task ahead of him.

Apparently Jimbo was very pleased with the start in Columbus so he's activating him - the radio guys said it would be Hill, Redding, then ... I don't know who ...
