Good job. They need to learn how to work the clock and take more inside shots when they have a lead, but this was a nice win. They actually ran some plays on offense.

I imagine the Verizon Center was filled with bandwagon Heat fans tonight? Would love to see the look on some of their faces right now.

I was at CCSP and said to the bartendress "hey, can you fix your comcast feed?  It looks like the scoreboard is off."

Heheh, good for the Wizards and their fans. Happy for my friends who are huge Wiz fans.

it was about half and half. or maybe heat fans are just louder and more obnoxious, which would correlate with front running

When I went in 2011 I was surprised to see so many Heat "fans" myself.

I confess...I do not understand the attraction with the NBA...and never have.

the NBA in the playoffs is the best basketball there is, it's just the regular season populated with mostly god awful teams that's unwatchable

...or more accurately, LeBron fans...back when he was at the Cavaliers there were all sorts of people at the Phone Booth in LeBron Cavs jerseys, mostly teenagers and younger, who probably couldn't have named another then-current player at the Cavs.

What may also have helped in the win was that the Heat may have been looking past the Wizards...to tonight when they play the Knicks. Bad teams can collect 'looking-past' wins of that sort from time to time.

I've always gotten the impression that basketball has a larger population of fans who consider themselves "fans of basketball" rather than fans of a specific team. They flock to whatever team they think happens to be most interesting at the time. I have a friend from Minnesota who has, in the few years I've known him, gone from being a Magic fan to a Thunder fan, because he likes teams with a solid young core and switches his allegiance to a new one every few years.

Combine this with bandwagoners that plague every sport, and you have a lot of Laker fans on the East Coast, Heat fans in every city, etc.

I have a friend from Cincinnati who's a huge Bengals fan- he jokes that at least he's not a wizards fan. There is something there- fans of bad basketball teams have less reason to hope than in any other sport. Football has teams turn around almost yearly and baseball and hockey have minor leagues. With basketball, if your team sucks, there isn't much reason to think that it will be different  any time soon

Another loss.  Not much remarkable out this one other than getting outrebounded by 20 and Vesely getting another DNP-CD.

Just remember,  teds building a winner (apparently drafting awful players eventually leads to success)
