In his last start on Wednesday, Redding ended up pitching five-plus innings,
giving up three runs on four hits against the Mets. Redding had problems
with the bottom of the order. In the top of the fifth inning, Redding walked
both Brian Schneider and pitcher Johan Santana. Two batters later, the Mets
had runners on second and third when Luis Castillo reached base on an infield
single that allowed Schneider to score. Redding had a feeling that Wednesday
would be a long night, because he didn't feel right during his warm ups. Nats
manager Manny Acta said Redding had poor command of his fastball.

Glavine will be returning to the scene of where he suffered the injury that
forced him to make his first career trip to the disabled list. The strained right
hamstring that Glavine suffered before he'd registered an out against the
Nationals on April 13 has healed and the 42-year-old southpaw is looking to
resume the success he had during his first two starts of the season. During
those outings, he worked 11 1/3 innings and allowed just one earned run.
