Great tune  ...  Bobby Fuller Four

As a Steelers' fan may I also suggest:

The jig is up the news is out they've finally found me
The renegade who had it made retrieved for a bounty
Never more to go astray
This will be the end today of the wanted man

How 'bout Bad Company?

Jayson Werth doesn't always go to jail, but when does, he serves time during the weekend.

too easy.

IF not walk up music, he should have to do a PSA with "Wreck on the Highway" as the background music.

I was quoting a poem I wrote in 1957 but thanks anyway.    John changed the words in early '65.

I had to go look that up since the song is generally attributed to Paul.  you're right, Lennon saved that song from a disaster. (See Wikipedia article.)

All those years as a DJ (part time here and there) paid off.    I did learn something.    :)

Paul wrote "Saw Her Standing There". Original beginning was "She was just seventeen, never been a beauty queen".   John changed the second part of that to "you know what I mean".  Save that song from a disaster too.

Freakishly great. So freakish that no one can be compared to them as songwriters.

George and Ira would take exception...

So would Rodgers and Hammerstein but I was referring to rock songwriting teams.

Here's a nice reference.

If Elton John & Bernie Taupin are ranked over Mick & Keith, that list is a bit suspect.

For sure, but it's all subjective, of course. Music rankings have all always struck me as being very random.

Music is art and it's in the eye of the beholder I guess.    Personally, I'll take Mick and Keith.      Sales, lists, radio play, etc. don't do it for me.    It's the style.   Give me "Satisfaction" over "Bennie and the Jets".         :)
