And I thought we wuz friends.  You do realize my fashion moves are to make fun of hipsters, correct?

Isn't that the whole point of hipstedom?  To be ironic and "make fun" of stuff.

Exactly.  I am a hipster douchebag that knows he's a hipster douchebag.  That I weight over 350lbs only adds to the hilarity.

So it looks like my trusty Ray-Bans wraps are on their way their to the glue factory.  Anyone have a brand or model of sunglasses they've found last a long time and can stand up to some abuse?  I'd like to stick with a wrap style so I can also use them for cycling too so here are the four pairs I'm looking at:

Kaenon Hard Kore (~$200)

Ray-Ban 4033 (~$100)

Oakley Flak Jacket (~$200)

Arnette Rage (~$100)

Are those metal framed?  I was shocked that these cheapy plastic frame Ray-Bans have lasted as long as they have.  Bought them on a whim at Costco for $60 and they've made it through two years of pretty solid abuse.

Yeah, I'm a bigger fan of plastic when I ride and Wayfarers (yes, I'm a hipster douchebag) when I'm out and about.  Do the Smith lens have any distortion?

Oakley Flak Jacket (~$200)
(Image removed from quote.)

Those look like the $15 shades I buy a pair of from Dick's every couple of years (and then trash and buy another pair) for driving on bright days :lmao:

It's more function than form, though I'm trying to get both with one shot.  I used to think Oakleys were total garbage but after I got one pair on deep discount I was sold.  Super sweet.

At the store or online? I bought a pair, can't remember which ones they were, but I got them for about $65 on their gov. site.

I have a pair of Flak Jackets, but I got the XLJs because they come with a slightly larger lens and I preferred that style when I tried them on. They do a pretty good job of keeping the wind out of my eyes when I'm on a bike. I need to get some prescription lenses cut so I can wear them on the golf course, though.

How well do they do at deflecting debris?  Now that I'm getting stronger I'm starting to average 20mph and I'd rather not have bugs, rocks, and other detritus fly into my eye balls and contacts.

Nice.  While they don't come in white (boo) those look like they might be perfect.  Any good places to get them on the cheap?
