Manny should make these guys sweep up the stadium after the game.

that's a suitable punishment.

Nah, they heard Hanley signed a $70 m contract today.

Actually, that's officially a rumor.  The original source for everything is an "acquaintance" of Ramirez who says Hanley mentioned it, and a Sun-Sentinel reporter picked it up and ran.  Unfortunately, it is the same reporter who had "confirmation" that the Marlins traded Lowell in June, 2003.

But, what makes it believable is that the MLBPA won a case to force the Marlins to hand over their books to be examined for where the revenue sharing money was going.  Suddenly, this rumor pops up, and the MLBPA is backing off.

Hanley has not taken a physical, as would be required prior to signing the contract.

Good point!  I understood it too.  Just wanted to make it more direct.  Gosh, do I want him so gone!  Can we fire a GM during the season?

Sure, the Reds just did it a couple weeks ago.

In fact, when Jimbo got fired by the Reds, it was mid-season.

Is it that wrong to wish this to happen soon?

Seriously, you guys really think that game was less embarrassing than either of the losses to the Astros? No freaking way!
