Dave's indignation at the scorekeeper in the top of the 9th tonight and the exchange that followed was pretty funny.

They were VERY very funny tonight

I actually work quite productively during nats games because I'm nervous so I keep working away

Keep telling your boss that!  LOL!  Like a teenager who says, " Dad the loud music helps me concentrate better!"

RECORDING REQUEST: Beginning of the bottom of the 2nd inning, Charlie does an ad for an MLB app and then Charlie and Dave explain why they don't actually use it.

They later clarified that they don't use it to listen to themselves when they are broadcasting...

I was at the game and the greatest call I heard was the crack of the bat and the crowd!  I like C and D but I don't like hearing play by play guys screaming over natural sound.  Dave needs to learn from the pros who announce it then let the crown respond and viewers/listeners imagine

I would say this is only correct for TV announcing.  When I'm watching live action I don't need someone yelling about what I'm seeing.  When I rely on someone else to describe what's going on them yelling only escalates the feeling of the stadium for which they are the pulse.

its called pure elation and it shows their true invested emotion in the team. i would have been disappointed had Charlie not reacted like that. it fit with the moment of Werth hitting the walkoff HR to, as Charlie said, save the season and get us to game 5

being an Appalachian State grad, on of my favorite radio calls ever is when we beat Michigan in 2007. our radio guys went nuts and it fit the moment

and i could hear the crowd going bananas just fine under Charlie losing it lol

First off, that was Charlie.  And secondly - shut the freak up.  That was one of the greatest radio calls of all time.

The audio for this is regularly played (among other such moments) on the radio broadcasts (before the match coverage itself, not the pre-match show).

It's actually the opening call of one of the shows on the MLB Network... at least the "Swing and a long drive..." part.

Another request! I think it was in the top of the sixth (July 4), but there was a fantastic stretch of 3-4 minutes where Charlie and Dave talked about really, really bad 1960s TV shows, culminating in Charlie explaining the plot of the worst sitcom of all time, My Mother the Car. Would love this clip.

Here's the intro music to My Mother the Car:
