Comparative dates on which rhe Nationals notched their 82nd win...AND THEN THERE WAS JUST ONE - a win against the only pitcher to beat the Nationals in their opening series at the Friendly Confines this season:

2005 - finished 81-81
2011 - finished 80-81
2007 - finished 73-89
2006 - finished 71-91
2010 - finished 69-93
2008 - finished 59-102
2009 - finished 59-103

---

TODAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Saturday 3rd August 2005 the Nationals edge the Phillies in 12, 5-4...record now 70-66...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250903120

Can anybody remember '08 and '09? I think '08 felt like the worst team ever.

I think I was still in the glow.    Even though the years' win/loss records sucked, damn I loved havin' baseball.

Prosecutor: Over Macho Grande?
Witness: No. I don't think I'll ever get over Macho Grande. Those wounds run...pretty deep.

Honestly 2008-2010 were pretty brutal but with time the memories fade hence the lack of comment on 2006-2007. ;)

HOLY crap A WINNING SEASON!!!  Baseball is the only sport where I've never had a team have a winning season before.

 :old:

You're such a newb.  Why, there was 1969, and....and.....ummm.....and........1969 .     :-[

311 row C. I'm thinking about 1/4th season tickets and if I got some they would be around there either in row D or higher. That would be pretty sweet.

Awesome - I sat in 311, Row F today with my dad.  It would've been cool to meet up.  It was my first time in that section as well and I really liked those seats.

Haha heard that cheerleader guy near the front? (Cheered for a 6-4-3, kept chanting LET'S GO NATS! Was right in front of him with my parents.

But yes, nice view from that section!

The guy in the Lannan jersey with the microphone announcing the pitching changes was a nice touch too

Yes, that was very unique  but appreciated. Only did it between innings so what's the harm.

I definitely got a kick out of it.  Never seen anything like it before, but like you say, what's the harm? He looked like he was enjoying it, and the folks cheered him on, so good for him.

I was in that section.  I sit in 310 on the Teddy plan.  That's Bob.  He's one the characters of our section.  Some don't like him doing that; I don't mind though.

If I sit in another section of the park and another pitcher comes in.  I miss his announcement.

There all the time huh? He was a treat.

But I seriously liked those seats. I'm going to the game Saturday and I will see if I can get in the 300s behind home plate again. I loved being able to tell strikes and balls!

He's been a regular fixture for as long as I can remember at Nats Park (quite plainly audible in TBSITH).

He's been around since RFK, he used to hang out in the lower-upper deck between home and first.

If he's the guy we saw -- grand-stand down the left-field line, just past 3B -- he's great. Just the kind of loud-voiced cheering that a team needs. The guy I saw was leading "Let's go Nats", and "Lar-ry Way-ayne" at Chipper Jones.

The stadium has a fan-base when it has people like him, and no longer needs the "Nat Pack" to start noise.
