Off to the game tonight, hoping to get there early enough to chill a bit before the game.

224 L, on the cheap tonight. :D

Unsure, someone bought them, forgot about the listing on Stub Hub.

Headed to the game too?

Thanks to RobDibblesGhost for the great ticket for the game last night, I got there late and we lost, but it sure beat the hell out of watching it from my couch.

Anyone else hear about the usher who got hit by the ball last night?  Larry works the first base side, usually at the top of the section but they had him down by the field last night and he got nailed.  He got hit so hard in the chest that they had to hook him up to an EKG to check his heart, word as of the ninth inning was that he was going to be OK.  Scary stuff for those guys who work down there and can't pay attention to the game 100% of the time.

With tomorrows game looking to be a rain out I wonder if the team will announce the cancellation ahead of time or allow people to show up and buy drinks.  Usually I complain if they don't announce it ahead of time but I want to get the kids jerseys and Jr Nats Club packages, we're planning on getting dogs for lunch and then hoping for rain so that we can go back on a warmer day.

It's set to rain pretty much all of tomorrow (60% chance of rain practically the whole afternoon, per the Weather Channel) - and on top of that this will be one of the easiest fixtures to re-schedule. Monday is a travel day for boith teams (on Tuesday, Nats and Marlins open away series at Padres and Mets respectively), and if that isn't attractive to both sides, both of the remaining Nats Park series between the two teams are at weekends.

So I wouldn't be surprised if this one gets postponed...but then again, who would have thought of the Nats cancelling a home match against the Pirates last seasoin due to 'threat of rain' when no rain ever materialised?

Yeah you gotta admit.  Its hard to make the correct decision.  I hate having to come to the park and standing around when a postponement is inevitable.  They've been criticized for such.  So the first time they try to do something rigbt, it backfired!

Or Strasmas II where it seemed impossible that they'd get the game in but the skies cleared for just long enough for the Nats to blow Strasburg's late inning lead.

So if they cancel the game and it's on Monday, it would likely be a day game, right? Will I have to get down to the ticket office tomorrow or Monday to exchange these or could I do it after the fact?

Zero chance I make a day game on Monday.

Nats should want to get the game in tomorrow if they can, to make the transition to the West Coast easier.

I really wish it'd be a night game, Monday 1pm start would suck. 7pm would be awesome. But since we have to travel to the west coast, yeah, there's no way it's a night game. No way at all.

Different than this - our usher in section 117 got bit by a pitbull last night.  It was on channel 7 tonight

Rain is supposed to worsen late afternoon and into evening.

I'm still pissed about that.

I made a weekend trip to DC to see the Capitals play the Rangers and was pumped up to see that game as well but nooooo......

From the radar right now at 3 AM in the morning..I am seeing most of the rain pass DC to the east and mostly over the Chesapeake Bay.

As a self appointed meteorologist I really am seeing only about a 20-30% chance of rain tomorrow.

The sub 50 temperatures are the issue tomorrow.

Capital Weather Gang's NatCast has 'Any marlin would feel right at home with the amount of water around today. Slim chance that this one gets played all the way through, and it may very well be postponed before it ever starts.' with 99% chance of rain; Weather Channel's hour-by-hour forecast has 100% chance of rain at 12.00 and 80-90% for every subsequent hour through late evening, with a projected total rainfall of 1 inch.

The message on the call in line for ballpark workers was just changed to "report on schedule".

Good move. I'm glad they are canceling games 3 hours before game time. I don't think there was any doubt, but it still is the right thing to do.

Awesome, that means I can spend my Sunday working instead of listening to Blue tell me that I could never ply in his hardball league as a closer.
