Looking forward to OD. Our OD group gets bigger every year. We have 24 people meeting at my house and we've rented a small bus. We are in groups of 12, 8, and 4. Next year I'm buying group tickets so we can all sit together. I suspect I will put together a group of 30 or so next year.

I'm going the other way, last year I had a group in the 30s and this year it dropped to 22.  I've done the group sale thing a couple times and it gets me a few rows closer to the field but it's not worth the hassle so unless I get a double the demand next year I'm going back to individual ticket sales.

group thing is a cool idea, but with it being the home opener, its going to be hectic anyway so i'm cool with just my regular tix.

again pm me if you'd like to meet up.

They are announcing a sell out crowd for today with even SRO seats sold out.  In the past the team has called a game sold out with several thousand seats below capacity listed as the official attendance, but in this case with the standing room tickets they might have actually sold as many as they did for the Philly games last year.  Do we set the attendance record today?  Or is the announced attendance significantly lower than official capacity?  I say somewhere in the middle with just over 40K as the number.

Currently great tickets on StubHub are going for less than half of face value ($15 for 116 row CC which is a $50 ticket at full season prices before service charges), somehow I got lucky last night and sold a few extras for just under face value.

I'm not even bothering to list my last two available, I'll just sell them to a scalper at the game, if anyone wants them PM me on this site.

The benefits of me putting together a group for OD next year include pre-sale even ahead of STH presale, getting to sit together, no service charges of up to $7/ticket, and a slight discount on prices.

It's a no-brainer for my group next year if there's enough interest. And since I end up having to buy a bunch of tickets for my ticket partners anyway (I bought 20 this year), it's actually less of a hassle then trying buying them during the STH pre-sale.

That's why I went that way the last two years, next year I won't do it again.  I can get the same price using my STH card at the box office and sit a few rows back with a lot less hassle.

Well the big day is finally here - and Capital Weather Gang's first NatCast of the season reads thus:

'A great opening day with plenty of sun. Dress warmly though, as winds are brisk blowing from left to right making it feel colder than it should. Cheer your head off and you probably won't even notice the chill!' - expected temperature at first pitch 54, 58 by ninth inning; 1% chance of precip.

Heading on over for my eighth consecutive home opener before too much longer....

Might pop by the Scoreboard Walk if it isn't too crowded to see if they've got the $5 Urquells back in stock.

Dress warmly, there's a bit of a wind picking up. It's very deceptive with all that sunshine.

This is the one time being in the lower bowl (with little wind down there) might be a good thing.

I've got an army of HVAC guys crawling all over the house...might just leave them to their own devices and head down there at the last minute to escape this bedlam.
