While I was waiting at a light to cross to the park a car from Virginia passed by and I swear the dude in the back looked like Spider. Couldn't figure out the Virginia connection though. Great day with good baseball, good friends and good weather. G-d I missed this game!

Also, on the way out I overheard a conversation in the bathroom in which one dude was insisting Zimmerman should be charged with two errors for the play in which he sailed the throw to 1B because the runner ended up on 2B.  :?

One error for the drop that allowed the runner to make it to first, a second error for the throw that allowed him to take second, I don't agree but there is some logic to it.

Now I'm all kinds of pissed that I didn't get to meet Spider or SF!  You bastards didn't text me either!

On the bright side I got to see the usual crew - Salty, Cal, Blue, TommyT, JCA - and got to see one hell of a game.  Yesterday was the kind of game that when it's over you ask yourself - "is this really the same organization and team that was here in 2009?"  Maybe it's all of the Big Pharma™ drugs I take everyday, but yesterday might have been the turning point for me from hardcore LoD to SSS.

Could be lots of people speculating on seats.

The Red Loft was packed, or so it looked. Also, at Nats Park, there are always several thousand people on the concourses. At least it seems that way.

I got to the ballpark rather late (12.30) and the Loft was pretty well packed out (queues 4-5 deep all round the bar) so I just headed to my seat...no problem, there'll be other times....

Pilsner Urquell draught is back in the 300 level (the Base Line Brews behind section 315, inner concourse)...had one; it was pretty good.

Metro was surprisingly orderly going home (Green then southbound Yellow line, changing at Archives) despite the large turn-out - no long waits getting on.

Got there early and roamed the park, didn't see many changes, lines just as long as always, staff still trying to learn how to use their cash registers...the Red Porch 'remote data entry' machines are up to their usual poor performance and AT&T, as usual, couldn't get a signal into the ball park until about the 3rd inning.
Outbound traffic was very bad, can't imagine metro would have been better since I kept getting the "expect delays on the orange line" warnings from metro while I was driving through town.

Game was awesome though, win is always good!

The game was great and, while I'm usually a whiny little nag when it comes to everything, I have to say that the service in the Club Level was actually very, very prompt.  They didn't run out of food, the registers were working, and they had plenty of condiments for hot dogs including sliced Jalapenos!

Did anyone have the elote from the taqueria?  I lived off that stuff for several months last year.

Parking was a bit of bear if you didn't buy ahead of time. The Yards lots were all full by the time we got there around noon. But we lucked out in that the gov't building across from the Yards lot opened for parking for the first time that I can recall. Will have to keep an eye on that one.

Did some some quick tailgaiting for about an hour and so I was too full to really try any of the vendors inside. I stayed at my seat pretty much the entire ballgame. I hate to walk around on OD because the park is just so damn crowded.

Driving back to Va. was tough, tough, tough. The game ended right in the middle of rush hour. I wish the Nats would consider a 3pm start time for OD so we an avoid the return trip in the middle of the evening rush.

Overall, a great day. Good weather, good game and a curly W, baby....

looked just like the guy from terranova.  but he wasn't wearing a bally jersey he had a jacket  on 8)

TBSITH here.

Capital Weather Gang's NatCast for tonight has 'With clear skies allowing temperatures to easily cool after sunset, combined with the slight breeze at times, you might want to wear a decently warm jacket. Enjoy the clear skies though!' - temperatures 60-63 at first pitch, 55-58 by ninth inning, no precip.

ALSO: Enjoy the final weekend of Metro's 'spring break' [their name, not mine] with no track work scheduled - it resumes next weekend with the Marlins series.

None of that fancy stuff for me, give me a Flippin Pizza and I'm happy as can be.

Cell phone service was horrendous all day with the packed house. Very few of my calls/texts went through.

It was bad all day which is why it would be nice for the team to put the Game Day info on the big screen.

I put my jacket on once I got back to my seat, but was proudly sporting my Balester (now, a 1-game winner for the Tiggers) while in the Loft.  Maybe you were afraid Blue would mistake you for Nathan and give you the Livan treatment?

Should we wear something discreet to identify ourselves as Wnffers?!  LOL

Its weird.  You go back to the ballpark and you see a lot of familiar faces but not sure where to place them.  WNFF?  Yahoo group?  NATS U?  Stood in line at a picnic?  Dang. Seen the face before but just cant place it!

If I'm ever going to a game again where I plan on meeting WNFFers, I'll rock my Jose Guillen jersey (or my Cristian Guzman away jersey).

wow hilarious post.

it was up at the loft around the 5th inning or so, right before the nats scored.  if you were at your seats by then, it wasn't you, just a FomTerp (fake tom terp)
