Mets manager Terry Collins said Thursday that Willie Harris’s wife went into premature labor and lost the baby.
Horrible news. Harris caught a flight to New York late Wednesday to be with his wife and was placed on the paternity leave list. Baseball seems rather insignificant at times like this, but he could rejoin the Mets as soon as Friday. Fernando Martinez was called up from the minors to temporarily replace him on the active roster.
