Richmond Kickers now officially partnered with D.C. United.

I'm going to have to attend a couple games then and see some of the youth in the pipe. I'm especially interested in the June 8th game against the Wilmington Hammerheads. When I lived in Wilmington I used to go to the Shark Tank and all and take in a match or two.

Johnson moved right into City/Chelsea play by play.

I guess he'll grow into it, but he sounds to me like a wooden indian.  I greatly prefer the rolling lilt of the Brit commentary...might need to crank Motörhead like I've been doing for Nats games since FP replaced Dibble.

I've mentioned before that the missus and I enjoy sitting here listening to the Brits/Scots/Welsh do the game and asking each other, "What the hell did he just say?"    Johnson's a student.   He is a little out of his element but he'll be better in the long run.    I wonder why he took the gig.    Did he ask FOX or did FOX ask him to "Americanize" the telecast?    No matter how bad he may be in some minds, he'll never be as bad as Dave Johnson.

I like Ian Darke on ESPN.  Dry wit, and doesn't run his mouth stating the obvious.

My fave is peter drury. Johnsons call of the tevez goal was great. He saw it unfold and got excited accordingly in almost march madness manner.

Dave johnson does blow "itsinthenet itsinthenet"

They were saying over the weekend that'll he'll probably "move up" in the not too distant future.    Don't remember if they said United or one of the teams on the continent.

Not much room above Spurs at the moment.

Yet there is room.    They're only 17 points behind RVP and United.    :poke:

Well, there is that.  Or I suppose he can go play with the cool kids at Paris St Germain.

I wonder how the odds of Wales winning the 2014 WC have changed.  Maybe from one in a trillion to one in a million?

Pretty bad first game for DCU. Hamid's the only starter who didn't have a bad game.

Houston has just been a torture chamber for United since the old Earthquakes 1.0 moved there. I don't think we've even gotten out of there with a draw, let alone a win.

Yep.  Even after we stole their goalie.

Fans at Old Trafford are singing:

This old man, he played one,
He played knick-knack on my thumb;
With a knick-knack paddywhack,
Give the dog a bone,
Go on Madrid, freak off home.

Those of you who drive to RFK via I-395 should note that you can no longer go directly onto the RFK Stadium Access Road from the Southwest-Southeast Freeway. The portion east of the 11th Street Bridge is closed for reconstruction. Here's a map showing alternate routes:

The big thing on the way TO the games is not to panic if you find yourself forced onto the outbound 11th Street Bridge. Stay to the right on the bridge and use the new ramp to northbound DC-295, then work your way back across at the next interchange. (Note that your sat-nav will NOT likely include the new ramp since it just opened last fall.)

Thanks for that 1995hoo.    Any idea how long that's gonna last?    I wanna check the Germany/USA friendly at RFK on June 2nd.

Supposed to be until sometime next year, but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes longer. They're turning that eastern segment of highway into a surface-level "boulevard" and they're going to turn Barney Circle back into a real circle again. I don't know what that means for the future of RFK access from there, but I assume the tunnel under Barney Circle is probably closed for good. The conversion to a "boulevard" involves raising the roadway to a higher level as opposed to the sunken configuration it uses now, but I haven't seen any overall renderings to show how it is to look when done.

Tuned into this game at the 70' mark. Nice goal by San Jose.

What a ridiculous goal by Messi. I don't think Milan will hold on to their lead.
