If I recall correctly, the Nats perform well against Cliff Lee. Most notably Danny Espinosa and Jayson Werth.

My intuition was mostly correct:
Cool site with batter vs. pitcher splits for the day

LaRoche is awful against Lee, he might sit.

I want to take this opportunity to confirm my utter hatred for the Philthies. I still enjoy beating them more than any other team. Thanks.

Werth probably has a personal axe to grind in these games.  I mean if I had a bloodthirsty mob cheer when I broke a bone, I would probably have some uncharitable feelings towards them as well.

I'll never forget that OR how they cheered when Stras hurt his arm (yes, that's where it happened.). Scumbags.

Stras will pitch a gem tonight. Just got a feeling. 7+ innings, possibly shutout.

All is right with the world right now, we are back in second place, only 1.5 games back and the beaten up Braves have a tough series against the Giants and Michael Morse this weekend. For some reason I am terrified of laugh at the Phillies. Someone please toss out some positive stats at me white zinfandel to make me feel better. We can do this!!! right? If we get swept by when we sweep the Phillies there is a good chance we will be in the cellar division lead on Monday morning...please someone reassure me

see if the rewrite helps

There was a guy (and I use the term loosely here) in front of me at Total Beverage yesterday who had six bottles of white zin on the cashier counter. Nothing else. Yes, I was tempted to tell him grow a pair.

Had to google "white zin".     Reminds me of the 80's when folks got into quiche and a comment was made, "Real men don't eat quiche."    My dad said, "Real men don't know what quiche is."         :couch:

Ramos in Ext. ST yesterday: Caught 3 innings with 2 HRs and a  double at the plate.

Boom.

All is right with the world right now, we are back in second place, only 1.5 games back and the beaten up Braves have a tough series against the Giants this weekend. . . . Someone please toss out some positive stats.

Nats are 8th in runs scored (126), Phillies are 21st (107).
Nats have an offense that is 7% above MLB average, the Phillies are 9% below (using a stat measure, wRC+).

Nats pitchers are 5th in WAR, Phillies are 27th.

Our problem has been defense. It's not been good (5th from bottom if you look at BABIP, where the higher number defensively is worse), but the Phillies are worse (3d from bottom).

Let's just say I did not think "chick magnet" when I looked at the guy. For his sake, I was hoping he was buying it for his SO.
