Taylor Jordan's velocity?
« Topic Start: April 27, 2014, 02:40:54 PM »
It's down. It's down a lot from last year. He's in the 4th inning with less than 50 pitches and his fastball is coming in at 87-88 mph.

Is this a problem? Did Zimmermann experience the same kind of velocity fall off a year after TJS?

Zimmermann did not experience that, no.

Strasburg's goes down every year:

Jordan was sitting 84-85 in the fourth.

Sone of Strasburg's could be a result of becoming more of a pitcher and less a thrower.

I agree. Strasburg can throw hard.

T Jordan's dropoff is alarming.

apparently, he was sick today.  sourced to either Kilgore or Zuck in the GDT.

Ok. However, he has shown a drop in velocity in his previous starts.

Williams said he came to the park with a fever, couldn't go any further.

I suppose there really was no back up plan either. Not one that would have likely yielded a different result anyway. Hurry back Doug. We need you.

There has been a drop off in his velocity.  Wonder if he has a sore arm.

Occam's razor says it's the broken ankle.

I  know he wasn't feeling well, but could it also be "dead arm"

don't all pitchers get that at some point ?

Yes it very well could be "dead arm", but no, certainly not all pitchers get them at some point, it's is probably a very small percent.
