I thought they had to take all of the penalty in either this season or next season.

Initially it was reported that it could be split up between 2012 and 2013. Now it seems they have changed their tune. These bastards waited until the eleventh hour to prevent legal recourse.

do you think snyder has the balls? It takes an Al Davis who just doesn't care to actually take the league to court

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Dan Snyder takes it to court. He's got the money and I (mindfacting here) think he has a case of "short man syndrome" and will take affront to Goodell's crap. That said, who knows.

As for Griffin, if he ends up a bust, it won't be in the same vein as Russell. From everything I've seen/read, he's a hard worker and has improved each season in college. He's very intelligent and I think he'll eventually be a very good qb. Maybe not elite, but very good. He has the potential however to be a star, reaching that potential however takes a lot of good fortune, something we haven't had in a long, long time.

I think, given his work ethic, total bust is almost unforeseeable. I think worst case is a serviceable, but not great qb- but if that happens, the franchise has shot itself in the foot. If I had to bet I'd say above average qb

Probably not. The Skins should tell the NFL office that instead of the cap penalty they will surrender their 1st round picks for the next two seasons.   What they should do is cut players and "verbally warn other teams" not to sign them.  :?

Make a practice of cutting the union rep 1 week into the season? It's the nflpa that screwed them- the league needed their approval and they gave it in return for raising the cap (by a whole 200k). The funny part is they screwed their membership by taking money from teams that spend (redskins cowboys) and giving it to teams that don't (any one expect mike brown to spend the extra million in cap space he's getting from the skins?).

If you're pro advanced stats

Colt McCoy, Chad Pennington, Brady Quinn and Jason Campbell seriously harm that method.

I'd rather Garcon than Colston, but VJax would have been better. That said, I think Hankerson can develop into a big time receiver, or at least enough of a threat to prevent doubling up on Garcon. Add Fred Davis, pot habit not withstanding, to the mix and it could be a dangerous offense. Now let's tighten up that offensive line.

Pierre Garcon isn’t the only free agent receiver the Redskins are signing.

Just moments after Garcon confirmed that he’s signing with the Redskins, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that free agent wide receiver Josh Morgan is also on the verge of signing with the Redskins.

What this means is the Redskins are being incredibly aggressive about getting receivers in the fold who can give Robert Griffin III plenty of options from Day One of his NFL career. In a perfect world for the Redskins, Griffin, Garcon and Morgan will all develop a rapport and become a great pass-catch combination in Washington for years to come.

Morgan leaving would be bad news for the 49ers, who wanted to keep Morgan in San Francisco, although signing Randy Moss may lessen that blow.

Garcon and Morgan are both on our Free Agent Hot 100, with Garcon checking in at No. 55 and Morgan at No. 60.

Morgan caught 15 passes for 220 yards last season before being lost for the year with a broken ankle in Week Five.

Signing two WR's means the end of the rope for a couple of guys. I'll be glad to see Armstrong. Stallworth shouldn't be brought back. And I wouldn't mind seeing the Banks experiment file for bankruptcy. It's either that or Terrance Austin will be let go. Of course there's always the possibility that Moss will be released.

I would not let go of Moss, i think he can slide into a comfortable spot and he won't be forced to try and be the guy.  just my two cents.

but yeah armstrong/stallworth most likely won't be back.  banks could just stick to returning kicks.

Josh Morgan is an underrated player. Good signing.

Moss must go! He's freaking worthless.

And Banks has no place in this league.

He's a bust. Terrible draft pick unfortunately. We could use the WR help

I think garcon becomes the speedy short slot receiver - I don't see him lining up with moss at the same time

Garcon will probably be the deep threat. Besides, Moss makes sense in the slot. He's shifty and knows how to get open. He's also dangerous in the open field. With Garcon, Morgan/Hankerson on the outside and Moss and Davis working the middle, they could be dangerous.

Now if they let Moss go, Hankerson and Morgan on the outside with Garcon and Davis working the middle would be pretty nice too.

Good thing I didn't get an Atogwe jersey this past year. I'll go for a RGIII

I like that receiver group a lot. Now they just need to make sure that RG3 has enough time to get the ball to those guys before getting crushed.

It's really a plus on Moss' side that he knows the offense very well but with the salary cap issues he may end up being a casualty.

Very true. The thing was though, the o-line looked pretty solid until Lichtensteiger(sp?) went down. Then a few more injuries and everything went to crap. Everyone healthy and some added depth could make a world of difference.
