couldn't the same argument be made for us?  They've actually got a decent lineup even with Beltran being out and Pelfrey's breakout has been huge for them.
Did you see Pelfrey's odd numbers in the 5 inning 1-0 win Sunday?  5.0 innings 5 H 5 BB 0 R- 10 runners in 5 innings no runs for Atl

didn't see his line, but I just know the couple of times I've seen him this year he's been night and day different from last year.

Sometimes taking a guy like Pelfrey and just saying go pitch is the best thing to do.  That is what The WFAN announcers were saying Manuel is doing with him.

HERESY!   Yeah, if Wright starts hitting and Bay picks up his pace they are competitive.  Still, they won't finish ahead of Philly.

Well, no, I never said they would, but Philly would probably win 5 of the 6 divisions in baseball and they'd be right in the race for the AL East too.

Roarin Storen or someone ... please make a Adam Kennedy face (w/ Nats hat) on a Andrew Jackson $20 bill photoshop.  If not I'll try and do one tonight.

I think it can be said of any team in the NL East right now. The division has been craptastic the past few years. Get a few meatheads together to mash the ball and a few decent pitchers and you have your NL East Champ. The Phillies have mastered this and it is why they are where they are.

the one thing about Atilano is he seems a bit slow to the plate from the stretch ... does anyone else notice that?
