These shirts will be 30% this weekend, making them $42. Is that high for a dress shirt? I already got three previously on clearance a while back and they are very nice and very comfortable, but even on sale, they seem a bit expensive in this instance IMO.

that's a reasonable price for a good quality shirt.

Brooks brothers always has enormous after Christmas sales if you're looking for tasteful dress shirts and their wrinkle free lasts for years (I have some that are five years old and still look freshly pressed)

If you are in to button-down oxfords (I guess you have to be middle aged) the L.L. Bean wrinkle free ones are outstanding. They come out of the dryer looking great.

I've been buying Bean shirts lately, agreed.  And $42 is about what they cost generally.

I have been having trouble lately however with shirts being damaged in the washing/drying process somewhere.  Edges of sleaves or collars getting frayed.  Upon further exploration discovered corrosion on the heater box vent cover in the dryer.  Ground it off and bought some new shirts, hoping to not see this again.

It's early and I've had no caffeine.  But a quick glance at the thread title and the author and I clicked this believing I was entering the 'This Means War Thread.'

Mildly disappointed with what I actually got.

Brooks Brothers is nice for mid-quality.  I hate to say it but I still think the Ralph Lauren Purple Label is some of the nicest "luxury" dress shirts you can buy that aren't bespoke.

This is pretty much my new look:

I always swim in Brooks Brothers arms, even their slim fits. If I don't feel like involving a tailor I generally go Jos A Bank slim fit.

I've been shopping at the elite designer shop in Pentagon Centre - MarShalls.  If you shift the accent and capitalize the S, it becomes much more classy.

It's got to be tough on the government employees these days, hard to find good short sleeved dress shirts.

It's polos for me from sometime in April through Columbus Day.  sweaters through the winter.  One suit on a hanger for meetings with outsiders or court.

Bean offers their shirts in different fits also.  Tall, traditional, slightly fitted and slim.
