Sounds like the dude is just not a very good ump.

Ryan Zimmerman needs to make that play, Alberto Gonzalez needs to drive that extra run in, Matt Capps needs to close out the game, the 3B umpire needs to call that a check swing, the home plate umpire needs to call that a strike in general ... but Craig Stammen needs to go deeper and not get us in a 5-run hole.

Stammen should be the one going to AAA, when Strasburg comes up.  But that is a whole different thread................      :smh:

I agree. Atilano has proven that he can stay consistent. Nothing drastically better than Stammen but he can keep the team in the game. Stammen pitches either very well or very crappy. Atilano is the next to go though.

Yup. It's starts with starting pitching, and that was horrid. This would have been a good win to steal, but it didn't happen. The Nats had no business being in that game. The Astros made a crazy number of mistakes to let them back in.

BTW, for umpire rotation, they work in a clockwise rotation.

1st base --- Home plate --- 3rd base --- 2nd base

So, want to piss off the future home plate ump? Go get tossed by the first base umpire the day before.

IMO, we have to win the next two games to even up this road trip.  Going back 5-5 would be a big accomplishment ... seeing how we were on the road for 10 games: without our catcher, some shaky starting pitching outings and lack of offense in some games.

Agreed, we can't let the opportunity to win some games against a crappy team like the Astros pass us by. If we win the next two that will have the team riding high coming into the home series against the Reds.
