wouldn't this go for Mock as well?

Mock strikes me as a head case who will never put it together but it might if you believe he has the talent.

Oh gods. Nitpick it to death. Desmond is young and has flaws in his game. A player like that has to be motivated to fix it himself or he will be perceived as having attitude problems eventually. He's the new guy, of course no one is complaining about his attitude.

Of course he has flaws in his game.  But you're talking about attitude problems.  Nobody has ever questioned his attitude/clubhouse manner.  Milledge, even before he arrived in DC, had some doubters about his attitude.

Yes he needs to improve with his glove (making the routine plays) and his bat (not being a free swinger all the time).

Mr T has a chance to become a one-game legend right here.

Mock is a different story.  Every beat writer has mentioned in at least one of their game stories the guy is a complete headcase and likes to make excuses for everything wrong he does.

Oh and Desmond - with great hustle - made it to 3rd on that one.  That kid has such a bad attitude 8)

yup.  as would milledge.  and kearns, too b/c he's slow (not b/c of attitude).  in fact he wouldn't even been on base.

Was Taveras already announced?  If not, the Nats should use Willie as a PH.

And if he doesn't improve he will get pegged as having an attitude problem and not listening to the coaches.

Even though he might have the best attitude in the world and just not possess the capability to improve.

That's fair. :?

hahahaha or it's the fact he may just not be that good as we all hoped or that the problem of him booting groundballs and such is something he just can't shake.  it's not always attitude.

kearns had a great attitude, he just sucked and turned out he wasn't the player some hoped for.

I'm not saying it is fair but it seems to happen repeatedly with players who get a lot of attention on teams with crappy coaches.

Oh hell. I don't like the sound of Zimmerman coming out of the game.

Edit: Hamstring tightness...
