Today was his birthday. Should be in line to pitch tomorrow?

Not only that, but the walk and one of the hits (a double) were by Oscar Taveras...

Young pitchers can be pretty awful at times.  This isn't a red flag to me at all without some actual information about a potential injury.

Someone's dad (or other family member) knows how to properly use twitter.  Bonus points to The Rickster.

Someone on MLBTraderumors (I also post there under Mattionals) suggested Giolito and Espinosa for Samardzija.  I don't make that deal.  Even it being as lopsided as it is, I don't make that deal.  The two pitching prospects I'd rather not see traded are Giolito and Karns.

the cubs would laugh in our face if we proposed that deal.

Of course they would.  My point is that any deal involving Giolito is one that I'd rather not have.

giolito is an A ball lottery ticket. He in no way untouchable.

Agreed.  There is so much that can happen from A ball to MLB.  If you can get a known quality player for an unknown I would do it.

I like Giolito but I would never consider him untouchable.  If the Cubs would take him and Espinosa for Samardzija (they wouldn't) I would do that deal in a heartbeat.

Impressive.  Should be interesting to see where he starts next year and where he is by year end.

Giolito is pitching in the Gulf Cost League (GCL), I wouldn't expect it, but it would be cool to see him in Potomac (high-A) or even Hagerstown.

My hunch (never right, however), is he starts season in "Hagersburg" and does second half at Potomac. Pitches his 160 innings recovery year. Then splits season at the real Harrisburg and Syracuse.

Is Ray, Solis, Cole are really good (plus Jordan and Karns?), no reason to rush Little Gio.
