Why he would swing at that, I have no idea.

If someone were to as Dukes where that pitch was, I wonder if he could provide the correct answer.

Hello fellas, just got in.  I can see the massive Nationals offense has stunned yet another opponent today...   :?

Flores can't control how well/not well Hill is throwing the ball. His sinker has NO downward movement on it. He's leaving the balls up in the zone.  He can't throw his other pitches at all.

yes, he can't control how well/not well *any* pitcher is throwing the ball.

but that never stops people from gushing about how well our catchers "call games" or "handle pitchers" when our guys aren't getting shelled.

like I said, just playing devil's advocate.

personally, I think Flores and Nieves have done outstanding jobs this year, and Flores could have been our AS rep, if he had been here the whole season.

but I find it funny how so much credit is given to the catchers when our pitchers perform well, but ALL of the blame goes to the pitchers when they pitch poorly.

Out teams needs batting practice where they practice not swinging.

Hill blows. 7 hits and 5 runs given up in 3 innings.

He'd say it was a low high pitch that he wouldn't have swung at, but he did. :?

He's playing through discomfort...he's never been even 75% this season.

Means he should be giving it 125%. He usually does, but not today.

Would you guys get that "Endless Pool"? I think it's pretty cool for exercise, but kind of a waste of space.

none of our other pitchers get any sympathy when they get shelled.

just sayin'.

if he isn't 75%, then he should not be pitching.

just like it was said with Patterson.

Well you know how we do things here in Washington....play AAA guys or make injured guys play through pain.  Instead of "the Stan plan" it's the "OH, $%$ plan".

I'm not givin him sympathy...I'm just explaining why "he blows" as Sportsfan so eloquently put it.  If it were up to me, Hill wouldn't be coming anywhere near a pitching mound right now.

0 runs and only 8 hits in the last 14 innings for our offense.

I can't wait to hear Manny and some of the hitters "tip their cap" and say how dominant of a pitcher Haren is after the game. Great attitude guys! We should automatically bend over for any pitcher with an ERA below 4.

If Wily Mendoza Pena doesn't get a hit in his next AB, he'll join Bob Uecker at hitting a perfect .200

Bowden is probably more concerned with the upcoming draft than what is actually happening with the Big League team right now. That's terrible. That has to be the only explanation on why moves are never made. If I was the GM of this team I'd be ripping my hair out trying to figure out a way to make this team better. I'd be embarrassed to be associated with such a bad team that I'd spend every waking hour working on improving the roster.

I saw an all girls softball game the other day. The chick was throwing ten times better than what we have seen today. She was butch so we could possibly sneak her onto the roster.

The A's just scored 8 straight runs in the top of the 7th inning without recording an out.

THAT is why I LOVE the A's. I've really started following them closely this year. Beane is an awesome GM that will rip his team apart when they aren't performing. I love it, and that current team is a bunch of no-names that BATTLES every day. Young team with a bright future and playing great right now, complete opposite of us.
