I don't think I've made a serious post in two weeks. It was out of annoyance that we haven't signed a LH RP.

I imagine Vazquez will go where he thinks he can make an impact.

I get that you mean another lefty arm in the pen, but just to clarify, LOOGY stands for Lefty One Out Guy.  If Detwiler is facing only one left handed batter a game, that's not good.  He's a better pitcher than that.

Pretty good interview of Rizzo by Ladson.  Says biggest need in ST is starting pitching depth.  Also that they haven't had 'talked specifics' on extensions with arb-eligibile guys (JZ and Desmond).

I have to think the uncertaintly with MASN plays a roll there- otherwise they should have at least started staking specifics by now with Zimmermann

Nats should have given me those millions. I can be a righthanded no out guy.
You mean a RINOGY?  You'd be the talk of the town - Drudge, Malkin, Ingraham . . .

That's why I put down 7th inning guy too. He probably takes over the 8th when Clippard implodes.

I meant LOOGY because I was being thoroughly facetious with that post.

We've signed Ross Ohlendorf to a minor league deal. This year's equivalent of Zach Duke last season: a mediocre ex-Pirate as minor league depth for long relief or a spot start.

I like the move.  If the guy does not pan out, then he's easily discarded, but if he is on, he's decent depth.  Put together a stack of those guys in Syracuse, and have assorted Karnses and Solises in AA.  Whichever of the prospect guys pan out, they can either jump 2 levels if needed or they can enjoy the second half of the summer by Lake Onondaga.

Matt Capps and Rauch are still free agents.  I'd take either here.
