You have to have a GM who doesn't have a complex about having to be right.

well he and PA both thought getting rid of Dunn/Willingham were good moves, while adding Hrod/brown.

Isn't that most GMs? I think every GM in every sport is a bit of an egotistical ass. Otherwise they would never get to where they are today.

Only problem is the ones that refuse to seek logic and reason from people below them or the fans themselves.

They take fans for being idiots and not knowing what is best for the team...granted we don't know all the things necessary to run a smooth ball club...but we have an idea so to speak.

Yup, very common for GMs to have foolish pride regarding their moves. HRod is to Rizzo as WMP is to Bowden.

Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 58th win, each season:

2012 - 25th July (97th match of season)
2005 - 4th August (108th match)
2011 - 16th August (120th match)
2007 - 23rd August (128th match)
2006 - 2nd September (135th match)
2010 - 4th September (136th match)
2008 - 16th September (151st match)
2009 - 3rd October (161st match)

---

TODAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Monday 25th July 2005 was a travel day; they would open a six-match away trip (Atlanta/Florida) the following day...record 55-44.

---

This is the fourth time the Nats have swept an away series from the Mets - earlier table-runnings:

13th-15th September 2005
24th-26th September 2007
12th-15th September 2011 [4-match series]

We also got Alex Meyer out of that. And I'm pretty happy with LaRoche/Morse.
