Damned if he isn't a blur on the screen, though.

pathetic. he gets caught on the basepaths far too much.

70% success rate is acceptable.

BUT BUT BUT.. He doesn't have any power.

He's getting on base a lot, and that's the number one priority for a leadoff hitter.  I wish he would stop about 80% of those attempted steals of third, however, those are a net negative.  But his fielding is excellent, and on balance he's been a big plus.

However, he gets picked off too easily.

That's around neutral in terms of runs contributed.  The 30% throwouts equals the benefit of the 70% success rate, net benefit about zero.

He can grow out of that, he's still young.
I said then, and I'll say again. Morgan and Burnett was a great trade for us. I didn't understand the Hanrahan and Milledge love.

it was a good trade but not a great one.

Morgan isn't still young.

Hanrahan is garbage. Milledge was just named the AAA IL player of the week. I don't think he'll amount to much but he's much younger than Morgan and has power. Maybe a decent 4th OFer.

I blame coaching for that.  He should have the red light when he's on second with no or one out 99% of the time.

That's right, I keep forgetting he's 29. He's still relatively new to the majors though.
I like the guy, and the way he plays the game. No reason we shouldn't give him a fair shot.

FYI, Willingham is a worse situational hitter than Zimmerman.   :?

Do you think Kearns is still capable of reaching the warning track?
