You have a very inflexible view of the world, and in any case he would have made an out if he'd bunted.  Now, does he need to be dropped in the order?  Maybe?  I guess?  Who do you want to replace him with, and why do you think such a small sample is so important when it's repeatedly been demonstrated that small samples tend to be mostly worthless?

He doesn't have a hit in the last 12 at bats. He had a better chance of getting a hit via the bunt than swinging away.

Small sample size + everyone throwing him breaking stuff low and away = Trend. Mindfact.

9 hits, 4 walks, 1 hit batter = 3 runs :hang: That's 14 baserunners which = 2 baserunners an inning so far.

He was right on the fastball and then decided to hack at that one in the dirt. A walk would have put the Marlins in a tough spot there because they would have had to use a 4th pitcher.

three pitchers used, 28 pitches, and the Nats can't even score 1 run in the 7th inning there. Now they will get the Marlins' shut down relievers in the 8th and 9th. Cishek is a beast.

Cishek is sick, according to the Marlins announcers. Vomiting. Too weak to pitch. Heath Bell and some guy I don't remember.

I'm not shocked but I'm angry.  We're leaving too many men stranded.  Really frustrating!

We might see Gaudin.  He's warmed up.  Bell is warming up now.

Nats get another break. I bet they don't take advantage.

Gonzalez is a LH specialist and has done well in those situations. Davey is misusing him here big time.

Hanley Ramirez was two for his last twenty-five, should he have been bunting?
