The Yankees are NOT unbeatable. That ballpark is yielding a LOT of runs, especially home runs, which ought to bode well for the Natinals.

What a surprise I'm 0-3 when I go to see the Nationals.

Although...I did win $10 when Anderson Hernandez hit that Home Run. I turned to my friend who I went with tonight (whose a Mets fan) and said if Hernandzes hits a home run here you owe me $10, and if he doesn't I'll give you 5 chips at the next poker tournament.

It took a 4-for-4 night by Robinson Cano and a pair of flyball follies by Nationals center fielder Elijah Dukes, but the Yankees were able to avoid becoming the Nationals' 17th win of the season.

Down a run in the seventh inning, the Yankees turned things around for a 5-3 win last night in The Bronx, and avoided humiliation to the hapless Nats, who are on pace to win a measly 41 games.

After Alex Rodriguez struck out -- drawing boos -- Cano lined a shot to center that Dukes came in on. Naturally, it sailed over his head for an RBI double and a 4-3 Yankees lead.

"I thought it was going to be caught, but thank God he missed it," Cano said.

"In his defense," Nats manager Manny Acta said Dukes, "he's not a natural center fielder."

Of course not.

Cano got things going in the second inning, singling and later scoring on Melky Cabrera's sac fly to put the Yanks up 1-0. Zimmerman's throwing error from third allowed Damon to reach second to open the third inning and he later scored on a Cano single. Hey, the Nats, who lead the majors in errors, went two innings without a miscue. What did you expect?

Yup, I completely agree. I was saying that same thing to some folks yesterday when I was listening to the NY talk radio guys making fun of us. It's like the school yard bully beating up the hapless kid on the playground day in and day out. Doesn't that become NOT fun at some point? Where's the challenge? I guess since we always find new and spectacular ways to lose, we keep giving them fresh fodder so it doesn't get boring. Sigh.

Look at their ages and you have your answer.

it's SF ... he blames RZ's throwing error on Dunn
