oakland vs washington would have an amazing backstory considering all the deals between the teams.

Milone with Norris catching vs. Gio

the kid is 23 years old. he was a top prospect and now he is finally putting it all together. i wouldnt be surprised if he is the braves ace for the next few years
If not the ace, then the ace[in the]hole.  Just hope he's serving suspensions for his beanballs when we play them.

"Washington Times calls Michael Morse dumb, says the Nats are better without him"

Quote
Some serious high road avoidance was taken by Thom Loverro of the Washington Times earlier this week.

I can't disagree.

I have not heard of one person who is defending Loverro's personal attack against Morse. Lots of us think letting him go was a good idea but this personal stuff is uncalled for. It's one thing for internet posters to talk smack about players (hell, I called Morse dumb just a few days before the article came out) but it's just not right for a professional journalist to do so.

I don't think it's right to criticize someone for intelligence, as that can be genetic. Shameful.

Not to mention a lack of proof.  Or, even any consensus of what constitutes "intelligence".

There's a reason why I don't read that Moonie newspaper.  There was only one sports columnist that I liked on that paper and now he's gone.

Not exactly "National media" but I've noticed lately in the comments section of Yahoos sports game previews (and when you follow the game) of the Nats current game it always seems like there are more Non-Nationals fans commenting than Nationals fans. It gets a little frustrating when they complain about one of their players being a little off when they just beat the tar out of us the game before and that player was doing OK. Or when they say "get out the brooms". /rant.

MLB Now.  Top 10 Pitchers Right Now.

No Nationals made the list but Tom Verducci thinks Doug Fister should have made the list.  Al Leiter thinks if Garrett Richards made the list then Tanner Roark should have.

Goodness gracious, Baseball Tonight podcast on ESPN, had an interview run from last night's game on MASN....except it wasn't from last night.  It was from YEARS AGO.  Debbi Taylor is the interviewer and Zimmerman mentions Livan Hernandez and that the opponent was the Padres.

If they don't edit it, it's about at the 3 minute mark.

Because you know Rosenthal couldn't let this go without adding his bit of ill-informed bullcrap.

Not to pile on Morse, but this quote is funny!  "Zimmerman is almost certainly more mobile than Morse, Ibanez, or Young, but being better than the worst defensive players in baseball doesn’t make you good."

It must be the ads. I use Google Chrome with the ad block app, and it loads the page like a champ.

Interesting.  DeRosa says he should shut the heck up and just play.  I would not be surprised he is basically saying what the veterans on the club from 2012 are wanting him to say.  He also says just let him play out his arb years, don't negotiate, and let him walk.  Hmmmm.
