I really enjoy "For Love of the Game", but "clear the mechanism", is one of the worst lines in movie history.

just wrapped up captain america.  pretty damn good.

the action was sick (GI Joe laser guns totally sweezeet).  lots of deaths.

two things i wish we would've seen:

1) i get it once he transformed into the dude with powers, it would've been nice to see him train instead of him just going on the fly and saying, "hey i have all these cool powers".

2) would like to know how he was frozen for 70 years.  sorry if i am missing something, it's late.

Watching 'Chupacabra: Dark Seas', will switch to The Godfather marathon on AMC at 10 prob. Funny thing is, for those Breaking Bad fans, the guy that plays Gus is playing the evil doctor in this.

Dude has had a great, great career.  I mean, "Do the Right Thing", "King of New York", "Homicide: Life on the Streets", and "Breaking Bad"?  Awesome.

I watched "Green Lantern" the other night. What a crappy movie. I like Ryan Reynolds, but I could hardly make it through that movie.

He's kind of like Lance Henrickson (sp), can be good in a total turd.

Figured I'd put this here since it is movie related.  Today is the 30th anniversary of John Belushi's death.  R.I.P. US Senator Blutarsky, we'll always remember you like this:

Had a bad film fest last weekend and watched Troll 2 and The Room.

Was kind of disappointed with The Room - I guess I ruined it by watching too many of the hilarious scenes on youtube.  Troll 2 was awesome, though.  VEGETARIAN GOBLINS ARE GOING TO TURN US INTO PLANTS AND EAT US!  OH MY GOOOOOODDDDDDDDD!!

The Room is just a softcore picturesography with silly scenes planted in around it.

I haven't seen the Troll 2 yet... OH MY GODDDDDDDDDD

Troll 2 is nothing like the first Troll, from what I've heard (haven't seen the first one).

Saw 21 Jump Street last night, also enjoyed it. Lots of fun and laughs and some good action.

Saw John Carter last week, thought it was better than what most said. Not the greatest movie ever but an enjoyable flick for me. Just don't see it in 3D.

Will see The Hunger Games this weekend.

Tim Riggins can't act but if he spent 90 minutes oiled up and shirtless I think I know at least five chicks and a dude that would be there opening night.

"A Separation" (2011) just won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film and, curiously, was also nominated for Best Original Screenplay.  I'm normally not a big fan of foreign films, since you're trying to watch the action while reading subtitles.  But this film has almost no action, so it's easy to follow everything that happens.

Before seeing it, since it was made in Iran, I just assumed that it had been smuggled out and would be 123 minutes of criticizing the Iranian government or oppression of women.  NOT TRUE!  It's a well-written drama, almost a mystery.  So pay attention to early scenes! Don't be surprised if it's remade in English, with the Muslim characters changed to Christians.  A Separation is now ranked #67 on Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB), the highest rank of any film released in 2011.

If you've seen it, send me a Private Message (PM).  An Iranian posted that a few lines were poorly translated into English.  The film makes more sense with the correct translation, but the error won't spoil the overall appreciation for the story.

A Separation is still playing at:
AMC Loews Shirlington 7, 2772 South Randolph St, Arlington, VA
Landmark E Street Cinema, 555 11th Street, NW, Washington, DC
Landmark Bethesda Row Cinema, 7235 Woodmont Avenue, Bethesda, MD
