I thought the MASN crew gets an hour before and after postseason games to do their own reporting and whatnot? I'm sure you'll see her there.

The lack of :w: in the thread title was disturbing. After some airport hijinks, I was wondering, how the hell did we blow that lead (9-0)?

20 wins for Gio, how freaking cool is that? Hells yeah. :w:

Special note: Gio is the first Washington pitcher to win 20 games since Bob Porterfield...about 1952.

Did they do anything special? I don't really want to know game specifics but am curious if there was a celebration or comment of some kind.

MASN = pure Baltiless rubbish. Gio gets win# 20 regardless.

Enough with the Dan Marino BS.  For most of the 80's, the Dolphins had no running game and bad defenses.  That's why he didn't make it back to the Super Bowl.  If they'd built a complete team around him, he would have gotten back.

Plus, I don't give a crap about individual players. If the Nats win the pennant I won't be shedding a tear because Strasburg didn't get to participate.

Yesterday's win pulls us even in regular-season wins with the city's only World Series champion:

99 - 1933 [pennant winner]
96 - 1925 [pennant winner]
94 - 1930
93 - 1932
92 - 1924 [World Series winner], 1931, 2012
91 - 1912
90 - 1913
87 - 1945
86 - 1969

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Thursday 22nd September 2005 saw the Nats salvage the finale of their home series against the Giants with a 2-nil shut-out...it would be their last home win, and the 47th and last of Cordero's saves, of the season...record now 78-75...http://espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250922120

Mystics lose at Chicago to finish 5-29 and clinch worst record in league - and most ping-pong balls in Wednesday's draft lottery...hoping to see Brittney Griner in Mystics colours next season....

Briliant bit of baseball yesterday...looking with some trepidation to this afternoon though....
