I can't stand all this winning by the Nats. I'm used to the loser Nats. I loved that era. This is the thread for all of us to wax poetic about the great Nationals players of the past that allowed to draft the great Strasburg, Harper, and other high round picks.

We might need a separate thread for catchers.

I'm surprised Nieves was in the majors for 12 years at that point so by now he is a 15 year veteran. Wow

And then a separate one for just lo Duca and Estrada.

And then a separate one for just lo Duca and Estrada.

Lo Duca has a special spot in the catchers, left fielders, and color commentators sections. Quite the triple threat

- Matt Chico. "The previous pitching coaches messed with his stride. We've fixed it. This year you'll see a new Matt Chico".

- Garret Mock

- Mike Backsik "who threw the pitch that Barry Binds on roids hit to break Hank Aaron's HR record"

- Austin "oops" Kearns. Shivered in Shea the night somebody hit a line-drive square over Kearns's head. Kearns didn't move until he jumped at the last moment; ball hit the warning track. Mets scored the winning runs. (Not to mention the collision...)

How about your favorite always injured ex-Nat?

For me it's  a three-way tie between John Patterson, Shawn Hill and Nick Johnson.

For sheer futility and destroying 2 good players careers, hard to beat the Johnson / Kearns collision.

29 men have played left field for the Nationals. How many can you name without looking it up?
