Maybe we can have a defining moment on Sunday by spoiling the O's sweep.

I think we've got a great shot at tomorrow's game.

Well, from the postgame interviews, there's no indication that Hanrahan is going to be DFA'd so we'll be seeing more of him.   :spaz:

I'd prefer to lose to anyone in our division than to lose to the O's.

The usual suspects...starting with Hanrahan.

Read my blog!     :)

I think tomorrow's game is a slugfest.  I think our lefty hitters have a great day against a soft-tossing righty like Guthrie.

Dunn is better against guys who throw hard, though.

(all i'm going on is the box score, here, fill me in.)

He allowed 3 runs then left 1st and 3rd with no outs. Hanrahan subsequently allows them to score killing Detwiler's ERA.

Detwiler shouldn't have let those guys on in the first place.  He was pretty shaky tonight.  He has quite a ways to go.

Hanrahan recorded one out, while allowing Detwiler's two runners plus four of his own!

I remember the book on Dunn (heard this in a Nats broadcast a few years ago) was that he does poorly against junkballers.

This just proves that it's always best to use the stathead approach and look up numbers.  Thanks Minty. :D

I was in attendance, 6 rows behind the Nats dug-out. Great seats, too bad the team is an embarrassment.

The traffic was so bad that I didn't arrive until the 2nd inning when the score was 1-1 already. From that point on the Nats got outscored 10-0. :?

I was surprised by the huge crowd. I could count the number of Nats fans I saw on one hand.

The people bashing Detwiler are hilarious. He wasn't great tonight but I thought he did okay. Kept us in the game. Don't let the fact that our offense is pure garbage change your opinion of how our pitchers do. With an average offense we would have been right in the game tonight, that is until the pen came in the game.

I ripped the freaking crap out of Joel as he walked off the mound and back towards the dugout. I know he heard me because I was literally 15 feet away from him.

Villone is a pathetic excuse for a pitcher. Couldn't even get the lefties out.

Guzman is the most frustrating .330 hitter ever. If it weren't for his contract AlGo would be playing everyday.

Or the fact that he is a .330 hitter.

Those type of players don't just grow on trees.

he's a solid ballplayer. average defensively, hits for high average, but swings at everything and will make you pull your hair out. i like guz. i wonder what we could get for him. last year i didnt want him traded because we had no one to replace him. now, we have gonzalez, with desmond looking solid in AAA.

we have plenty of Shortstops behind Guzman. Trade him for whatever you can get although I don't know who will want to cover his $8 million salary next year.

Guzman gets his share of hits but he has so many terrible ABs and he kills us defensively. Nice guy but we have too many of those as it is.

I hate how all of these contracts we generously give out always blow up in our face. :?

We shouldn't have to worry about who will cover his salary. The Nats are in position to eat it. This is one of the most frustrating things about these guys. When you have a dearth of talent but plenty of money and don't want to go buy high-priced FAs, you sign veterans with value and then trade them and absorb salary. Guzman (and others) should be shopped around based upon pure value without salary attached as if he was making the league minimum.
