ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i thought john lannan isn't a major league starter ... minor league fodder ... lAAnAAn huh?  STFU.

4 wins in his last 5 games, could be 5 wins out of his last 6 ... was he bad in the beginning of the year?  yeah he wasn't his old self.  but since healing up and working on his mechanics and building up his confidence he's been a MLB back end of the rotation starter.  some posters on here may have called him a top of the rotation guy - i've never said that - i feel he's a #4/#5.

p.s. insert PANatsFan saying he still sucks and marquis is so much better and then spidernat taking a jab at me even though he doesn't make a baseball comment.

This team is playing good ball.  When the kids come up next week, I really think we will end the season on a major hot streak.  No more Willie, Mench, Gonzalez, and Nieves playing.

Assuming a top 3 of Znn, Marquis, and Maya then yes, I can think of a handful of better options.  They've been listed in other spots already but guys like Livan (if re-signed), Olsen, Detwiler, Chico, Martin, Milone, Solis all should be given a shot and all have either better stuff or better production through the minors than Lannan.  If everything goes well for Lannan he's a #5 SP on a winning team.  Each of those other guys brings more than that in some form.

With the Strasburg injury it's the smart move.

Your anti-Lannan obsession is starting to make you look bad.

Vastly better job this afternoon by Nats Park concessions in the 300's, compared to last night...vendors regularly in the stands and the beer stand behind 310 (featuring the coldest beer in the 300's, Amstel Light and Heineken) was fully operational. What was the problem last night, I wonder?

Little late, but I love how Ray Knight looks like a proud papa when the Nats win and sooooo pissed when they lose.

He's having an on day. The singles don't matter. He and Marquis are the same pitcher in the mirror - it's eerie.
They aren't the same pitcher. Lannan has a better WHIP, ERA, ERA+, BB/9, FIP, xFIP, tERA, HR/9 than Marquis on his career. If you use recent years, it's not a comparison. Marquis has a 4.93 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in his last 5 seasons.
