He's an ex-player. The don't roll over like fair weather fans.
You get it.

Maybe he's lobbying to take over. I'll bet they'd perform for him.

Knight would land in the hospital or rehab in less than a week.

Submarine pitcher - they make good relievers because they are hard to adjust to

welch and I remember submariners Dick Hyde and Ted Abernathy of the Senators. We are old.

Who was that Korean submariner who freaked up game 6 for the D-backs vs the Yanks in 2001?

[edit: Byung-hyun Kim, and it was games 4 & 5]

No clue on that one. But I seem to remember that game.

Well, they won the series, so apparently it worked out. I have no idea how one could possibly hit anything off of a pitcher like that. Good thing they weren't around in little league.

Matt Williams post-game blather sounds like a broken record...'our guys swung at a few pitches outside the strike zone...' (that's news?)...'it's all about tomorrow's game (except your boys are incredibly slow learners)...'there's plenty of baseball left' (just not for the Nats)..the man observes the obvious, yet there are never any changes in the ABs of this collection of garbage pitch chasing, watchers of called third strikes down the middle.....never...after how many games?
And why do some of these overpaid EFF-ups stare at the scoreboard while shuffling back to the dugout after having been called out on strike 3, often a perfect, down the middle 88 mph pitch that should have been launched to the moon? What are they hoping to see?

Announced attendance 30,888...looks like a lot but it's actually the Nats' lowest home attendance since the Reds opener on 6th July (23,673).

...sigh...even the blasted Braves pulled their game out in the 12th inning...just a bummer all the way...third place here we come.

Not sure that is a bad thing at this point.  Maybe it wakes the front office up.  This team isn't going anywhere unless some long overdue changes are made.
