Yeah once the ASG is over, at least with Nationals' fans, it's time to countdown to the NFL season.

I thought it was a portable urinal.  Doesn't have much of a bole.
But if you have to vomit, I guess it would do the job.

It's one of the greatest artistic statements of all time.

time for Campbell to prove the haters wrong and have a career year.

we need him to in order for us to win the division and make a run.

sucks we are still stuck with Portis but hopefully he can hold on for one more year. He's almost done for. Once RBs near 30 they are finished. CP isn't quite at that age yet but he has lots of mileage since he has been carrying a workload for several years.

Kelley or Thomas need to step up

so if olsen can't go on monday, who should we call-up?

martin didn't look good at all in his last start.  balester has been up and down.  obviously they want to work with det for a while.  martis, no chance.

Bally. I wouldn't be upset with either one though. when is Ross going to make a start for the Chiefs? Martis is going tomorrow.

let's hope Olsen can make it so we don't have to dip into AAA for another starter.

i've been looking forward to nights when olsen is pitching recently.  he's regained his old form.  hopefully he's okay.

Just make it a Nationals "We'll Try Anything" promotion.  Randomly choose someone from the crowd to be the starting pitcher.  If they do worse than what we've already had on the mound, give them a free t-shirt, and DFA them after the game.

I think it should be for relief pitching or possibly second base, but other than that, yes.

 My LAC sources tell me only the Lerners are making a boatload of money, not the players (bums like Kearns and Young excluded).

Bard might as well called out Kearns and Belliard with that statement because they are the only ones who make money other than Dunn.

All I know is that league minimum would do a lot more than pay my rent and buy groceries.

I don't know what the league minimum is for 2009 but going by 2008 numbers, if I got called up today and stayed the rest of the year, I'd make $178,148.15 (pre-tax) That's more than 500% more than I make now.

Athletes need more money because they need to spend it on training, entourage, and groupies. You have to have a nice car to make it look like you are an athlete. That figure you posted is the equivalent of 50,000 to normal people.

Heh, for some, they're not all like that.  Knowing me, I don't think I would spend 3/4 of my income on on training, entourage and groupies.  But, even if I did, $50,000 would still be a nice little raise.
