How about Milone? I hear he's having a nice season. Does a soft tossing lefty need to develop any more?

Why do you insist on doing something asinine and throwing away option years on young pitchers?  This team isn't supposed to do more than contend for .500 this season.  They're currently 2 games below that pace.  They've got two legit SPs and unfortunately 3 more that are injured right now.  Ride out the AAAA starters until some semblance of health is achieved.  Take another look at guys like Chico when they show they're ready.  Don't freak out and do something moronic and rash when the team in on a pace to improve by 21 games from last year.

Thankfully real baseball people are in charge and stupid panic moves won't be made.

Now their outs are coming quickly, when the game is no longer competitive.   :?

Rizzo is watching a different team:
Quote
Fortunately Washington's starting rotation has performed well even without the services of Wang, Detwiler and recently, Scott Olsen, who is battling shoulder tightness and is in Florida on extended spring training trying to recover.

"We have a rotation of Major League caliber pitchers and they have kept us in just about every game," Rizzo said. 'We're striving to get better, though, and we feel that competition breeds success. Having options [in the starting rotation] is a key."

Guy is a class act all the way. I wouldn't want that kind of player anywhere near my team. This just proves he doesn't give a crap about winning or helping the team, only about his stats and paycheck.

Because enough is enough. If they are worrying about option years on Milone 3 years from now, I'll have given  up on baseball in Washington. These are sink-or-swim guys, and maybe 1 or 2 belong in the major leagues. But I don't want to end up with tickets to guaranteed losses, or I just won't buy tickets.

Can we get a hit out of the outfield?  One more for the night?

4 runs should win the game. If starters are consistently giving up 4 ER a start, that's an ERA of 6, since none of them get out of the 6th, not even Livan.

I'm gonna do something more fun, like try to stop the baby from screaming, work, or give medicine to the dog. I bet the Obama speech was more entertaining.

Valverde needs to go back to drawing VooDoo things in the pitching mound.  It was more fun to watch.

Ronny always has the best animations. I'd like a still of that for a caption contest.

Same story Lannan's last start. 4+ innings by the bullpen, 0 ERs. Goes to show it's not a case of facing good teams with players having an exceptional night. It's John Lannan simply not being good enough to be a major league starter. And if he or the team claim injuries again and DL him tomorrow, I'm not buying it. He's never been this bad, but he's also never been consistently decent after the first time through the batting order either.

Our bullpen is great.  Seriously, why not think about making Clipp a starter?  He's been a starter his whole life.
Because he's been a starter and he was mediocre.
