Meh - not so sure about that. Who else was even deserving? Ryan won when we sucked Donkey Balls afterall - I think with ALR's huge bounce-back season, he would have gotten it regardless of our record

Big starts can win when their teams suck, if not laroche Allen Craig or Freddie Freeman could have won

Those guys are butchers compared to ALR - still it is the Travishamockery Award - so it's not out of the realm of possibility

Two gold gloves in eight seasons, we're overdue to win more of those things, silver sluggers too.

desi is easily deserving of the silver slugger for NL SS.

One of our pitchers has to win the SS too.

Mike Leake will win SS for pitchers.

if want to get into an analytical discussion of who is deserving of the NL SS for pitchers then I'm game.

Stras had 7 RBI to leake's 3
Stras had 4 RBI to leake's 3
Stras had 3 walks to leake's 1
Stras had a .759 OPS to leake's .749

The only categories that leake led in were BA (.295 to .277) and HR (2 to 1)  All things considered Stras deserves it, but leake will probably get it because he had an extra 14 ABs due to the shutdown.

Adam Jones was awful in the outfield this year. I have no idea why coaches/players (that's who votes for gold gloves right?) love him. He sucks even by the traditionalist stats that they love so much.

Quote
"Jones also led the league in errors this year among center fielders without throwing out as many runners as in recent years, so it's clear that Jones won this award based on his reputation and his bat rather than on purely defensive merits. It's unfortunate that spectacular defenders such as Mike Trout (23 DRS, with plenty of Web Gem catches to boot), Denard Span (20) and Craig Gentry (16) were overlooked in favor of Jones, whose minus-16 DRS ranked dead last in MLB for center fielders."

UZR hates him as well. I suppose Trout didn't win because he's a rookie/saberheads love him, but that doesn't explain Jones over Austin Jackson...

He comes across as an idiot in interviews.
