One time I was in the Quarterdeck lounge in Old Town, upstairs from the Wharf, and Jimmy Thackery and the Assassins were doing some incredible fiery blues tunes. Thackery had a cordless guitar, and wandered around the joint jamming hard, then stopped at the table next to me and grabbed a long-necked Bud bottle and played slide with it. When he finished the riff, he chugged the remaining beer (about half) and returned the empty to its previous resting place, and rejoined the band onstage. What a great show.
Thackery was one of the key members of the Nighthawks, in case anybody was wondering.
That's pretty cool. Lowell George used to use a spark plug wrench.
