Reader asked about Strasburg's command.

masnBen:
Just fine -- though they're hacking at everything.

The second pitch to this batter, he was bailing out AND swinging at the same time.

Last night was really depressing in Harm City.  Sure, it started to rain at 7pm but at 6:30pm there couldn't have been 15,000 people at Hammonds Yards last night.  At 7:45pm they still had bobbleheads left at some of the entrances.  Sad, sad scene.  I did get on the jumbotron last night though.

Announced attendance last night was 19,396...granted the Jays aren't exactly crowd-pullers these days, but when you can't get 20k in the house for a weekend bobblehead promo or a Sunday afternoon, you're really hurting. (Our Saturday bobblehead promo - for boo-bird target Jayson Werth, no less - drew 35,414.)

Some moron asked about Espinosa during the Strasburg blog.

and then some other moron responded!

 "Comment From Sharp
Espinosa is fine, he'll just never be a high average player. He needs to stop putting the ball on the ground so much, though."

:P

It's possible he's facing kids just out of high school.

The Lerners are already counting the loot. I'm sure they'll leak several "possible" start dates.

30 pitches. As long as he feels okay that's all that matters.

Goessling didn't say anything about that. The dude is probably just being a douche to scare all the squeamish Nats fans.

Every pitcher shakes his arm. Its actually recommended as it increases blood flow to the muscles.

Johnny ... we don't have anyone who can pitch today. We sort of need you to get through the sixth

Home runs are going to happen occasionally, and so are groundball base hits.  What's important is that he had four strikeouts, no walks, and was sitting 96-98.
