Batting/Pitching music
« Topic Start: April 05, 2009, 02:01:33 AM »
I think most MLB players get to chose 1-3 songs to play when they get to the plate/mound, what would your three songs be?  My first one wouldn't change throughout this long-lasting thread, but I can see the other two changing every once in a while.

1) 2 Skinnee J's - Irresistable Force
2) Stat Quo - Like Dat
3) probably anything that Jeffrey Hammonds is jamming out to these days

I liked Rauch's song he used to come out to by Audioslave.

Some other good ones:
Disturbed - down with the sickness
Three Days Grace - Animal I have become
Avenged Sevenfold - almost easy

The intro to "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" by Dropkick Murphys is pretty bad ass too.

Blistering death metal for closers, adult contemporary for lefty specialists, that "fat guy tuba music" that Stewie plays for guys like Adam Dunn should be mandated by MLB.

Psychological warfare for the opposing team would be nice too, like this song after a bad strikeout:

Nailed it on the head, this was my number one choice, but the music starts right at the start of the song. Rising up to the awesome guitar and drums.

Rage Against the Machine - Guerilla Radio

Blink 182 - Stockholme Syndrome

Editors - Munich

Honorable Mentions

ELO - Mr Blue Sky

Young Joc - Hear me Coming (not a fan of the song but its funny how it starts off about people fearing about him coming (me coming to the plate)) -- cant find a link

New Radicals - You Only Get What You Give (hahah just love the song)

Isn't the end like 15 minutes long? :D

3) is excellent, but personally I would go for probably NIB.

Yeah, NIB or War Pigs would be good too. But there are some good sections of SBS that would sound great over the PA. (The opening has a similar forboding sound to Hell's Bells.

It doesn't matter how long the songs are since you only get a few seconds anyway. So it needs to have a recognizable hook, and all of these have good intros.

Would you use "Voodoo Chile", or "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" ?

The organ solo from Janacek's "Glagolitic Mass"
"Highway" - The Fireman
"Uranus, The Magician" from Holst's "The Planets"

I'd be the only guy in the league with classical music. :P

BTW, mad props to Joe Beimel for choosing Johnny Cash. The dude's really growing on me.
