Goodwin is putting up absurd numbers and he's walking a ton.

.323/.449/.524 with 13 Doubles, 1 Triple, 6 HRs, 31 RBIs, 36 BBs, 35 Ks, 14 SBs, 3 CS.

He is clearly ready for the next level with those numbers. Bump him up to Potomac.

Really anxious to see if he can make it... Deffinitely move him up to Potomac and perhaps Harrisburg.

You just want to see him play while you're recuperating ;)

Unfortunately I don't see Goodwin getting a bump this year. And honestly, what good will it do?

He's blocked in DC for at least the next year, possibly two, depending on what they do with LaRoche.

Marrero is probably destined for the bench, are we giving up on Hood? Skole needs to get bumped too. Moore/Morse are also blocking him, and depending on whether they try to extend Morse, that could last a while. A log jam is a nice thing to have considering only a few years ago no one was ever blocked in our system

Michael Taylor has had an awful year in Potomac. 0 HRs in 264 ABs!! It's time to send him down to Hagerstown and bring up Goodwin who looks like he is ready for the challenge.

Bumping him up to High-A is not such a huge leap. I would let him play there the rest of the season and possibly start him there next season depending on how he does.

Taylor is handling himself just fine outside of the power. He's increased his walk rate from 6.6% in 2011 to 10.7 in 2012... all while only seeing his K% increase 0.08%.

The HR power hasn't been there, but the rest of his game is doing well. He needs to cut down on the K's... but he's at the level he needs to be at. This is only his second full year of pro ball. Give him some time.

I think he may be okay too but it is kind of startling to see the HR power go away. He hit a bunch of bombs in the second half last year and then none this year in the first half. Not even one. Granted, his doubles are up from last year but his pop was a big part of why he was such an intriguing prospect. His baserunning also hasn't improved. 65% success last year and 68% this year.

Hell, I can't go anywhere to watch a game right now lol... Hagerstown is the closest place I could go but there's almost no way I could stay hydrated right now.

Sending a guy down, especially this early in his career, is really crushing his confidence.

Brian Goodwin is red hot. Hit his 9th HR tonight, his 3rd in the last 5 games.

Now batting .324, 43 BB/39 K ratio, 18 doubles, 1 Triple, 9 HRs, 38 RBIs in 216 ABs. OPS near 1.000. He deserves a bump

Most impressive number for me there is the BB/K. I hope he gets the bump soon.

He has nowhere to play. They're not going to move Taylor out of CF and they're not going to demote him.

They could move him to double a.  It might be a stretch but it could be good for him.  He's shown good plate discipline, speed, and power.  He could probably make the jump.

Eury Perez needs to play and he's the CFer in AA.

I could see Taylor repeating High A ball and Goodwin making the jump to Harrisburg next year, though.

So play Goodwin in one of the corners

Goodwin is a CF'er... and needs the work there... as does Taylor... and to a lesser extent, Perez.

I support the idea of having Goodwin jump A+ ball next year and head straight to AA.

His bat needs the challenge more than his glove. And Perez has played RF before.

Why does Eury Perez need to play CF again? I'm on the fence as to whether he needs to play or not ANYWAY - above rookie ball he has a BB/K ratio of 52/189 in like 1,300 PA. Is no good.

However, he certainly doesn't have to play CF, right? I mean, he needs to develop as a hitter, so play him in LF or something. If he can't play CF we might as well scrap him anyways with the way he hits.

But here are some keys to running a successful franchise:

(1) You don't let a 5-tool player who's already 22 (meaning potentially within a year or two of the majors) wallow in low-A ball all season because a .600 OPS guy is blocking him
(2) You don't refuse to let the less talented guy play LF so you can continue playing the pupu platter of Jesus Valdez, Chris Rahl, and Jimmy Van Ostrand.

Put Eury Perez in LF with regular at bats, let Goodwin bypass the Potomac outfield, and that's that.

Oh, and (3) you ESPECIALLY don't let him wallow in low-A when he plays your most needed position. Get him to double-A and try to figure out if we need to pay Bourn this offseason or not.
