This thread has been hijacked to talk about burgers

People who take advantage of today's $2 tickets will have more money to spend on burgers - and other Nats Park concessions!

Best burger I ever had:  Jack Brown's with sweet potato fries

Best fictional burger:

Oh and I predict 10 Ks from Gio tonight.

A bit off-topic (but then again so are burgers lol): It's weird coming back to watching baseball after several year absence, I saw Nomar Garciaparra and Terry Francona on Baseball Tonight the other night....both who were still active last I had watched lol  :-[ :-[

If any of you are in the Gaithersburg area, the Dogfish Head Alehouse has wonderful burgers and their fries are outstanding.

Anxious to see tonight's game and Gio's smile plus his pitching.

Should I split off the burger talk or does anyone actually care?

In Texas, we take a lot of things seriously...
...football, beer, blonde girls, ourselves, our hats, a good truck, some smoked pork ribs...
...but none of it is quite as important as the sacred, almighty Burger.
Well, except for beer.

Must be for tourists, since everyone knows Texas BBQ is all about beef.

we'll get to that in a few hours.  Right now this team is so good that we don't have much to complain about so we're talking food.  I mean what would you rather discuss, burgers or Espinosa's batting average? :)

That's just me being bitter that San Antonio is totally devoid of good brisket. Texas BBQ is all about brisket but the brisket in SA blows. Rudy's has serious baby back ribs, at least. Ergo pork ribs.

Noooooooooooooooo my creation!
I'll behave properly tomorrow. maybe

Game isn't for another ~6 hours, I vote for keeping the burger talk.  If it starts distracting from the main convo during the game, then maybe split it off.

On a game related note:  After a free week and a half of Extra Innings, it's killing me not to be able to watch these games now.   :bang:

Excellent answer, my friend! As a reward, here's the chili burger from Christian's Tailgate in Houston.

According to this NBC piece from last week, it's at the Red Porch: http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/The-Strasburger-on-Opening-Day-147145745.html

There is no such thing as a "Strausburger".

Au contraire, a quick Google search proves that a chef named Mark Straus makes his own unusual burger out in San Francisco with a French cheese and on an English muffin. It looks disturbingly red. I'm a medium rare man all the way, but this looks raw.
