worst stat line - Nats hit 1 HR this entire series, and it was by J-Zimm.

Just don't let him get started on any Cubs or Mets GDTs...

Congrats MDS on his big win!

outside of his insane talent that's one of the reasons I'm so :az: over him.  Dude is just a really laid back cool guy, something we're starting to see out of Harper. Just imagine what the next five years are going to be like with those two in the same division.

:lmao: They dwarf our team in talent and it's not close.

Come on SF, I can usually at least laugh at some of the rants you post because there is some truth to it but this is just ludicrous. The Marlins have no SP outside of Sanchez and have a pretty crappy bullpen. Granted they have a pretty high powered offense when certain players aren't being jerkoffs but that's it.

They're 10th in the NL in runs scored.  8th in HR.  11th in batting average.  9th in OBP.  13th in slugging.  12th in OPS.

We (as in the Nationals) are 13th in runs scored.  6th in HR.  12th in BA.  12th in OBP.  8th in slugging.  10th in OPS.

Not only are they not a high powered offense, they're below average.  As I posted in the thread, they are the most overrated team in the NL East.

If you don't let Stanton beat you, they're unlikely to win.  The synapses in Davey Johnson's brain just couldn't figure that out for this series.  Davey Johnson holding up four fingers when Stanton came up to bat would have kept us from being swept in this series and possibly have even won it for us.

THIS DAY WITH THE '05 OVERACHIEVERS: Monday 30th May - Memorial Day (Nats were home for all three in-season federal holidays that debut year) - marked the start of a 13-game homestand (Atlanta/Florida/Oakland/Seattle)...the opener saw the Nats prevailing 3-2, Tomo Ohka outduelling Kyle Davies for the win. Record now 26-25, 3.5 games back of the current 2012 edition.

---

Mystics fell over 20 points behind the defending champion Minnesota Lynx but almost pulled it out, losing 79-77 (might have won if they hadn't given up four offensive rebounds in the final minute). So the local sides went 0-2 yesterday...no local teams are playing tonight (maybe they could all use the rest).
